An independent software company based in Edmonton, founded by Aden Shipton.
We build focused desktop tools for the day-to-day work of geotech and water resources projects.
Old, awkward, or tedious tools still sit at the centre of a lot of this work. What started as scripts to get jobs done more consistently turned into desktop software other people can use.
We are not trying to build a cloud platform or one big product that tries to do everything. The aim is focused desktop software that opens up clearer workflows and stays clear about what it's doing.
Approach
How we decide what to build
Start from real project work
We only build tools for jobs we've done ourselves. If we haven't done the work, we don't ship a product for it.
Don't bury the method
A polished interface is useful, but it shouldn't hide what is happening behind the scenes. Inputs, assumptions, calculations, and outputs should make sense to the person using them.
Stay focused
We keep scope tight and the actual task in view. The goal is software that does one job well—not a pile of half-finished features or an ever-expanding platform.
